In RTM technology, resin is injected between enclosed moulds in which a fibreglass mat or other reinforcement has been previously inserted.
Steel, metal, wood, foam and other components can be placed in the production moulds, serving, for example, to grip the product.
The resin is injected between the mould using filling equipment under pressure at a number of atmospheres.
A great advantage in using the gel coat on both sides of the part is the double-sided smoothness of the resultant product. This means the product has good surface quality, and can be painted on all sides. In filling and hardening, no volatile compounds are released into the air from between the enclosed moulds.
This production technology is suitable for medium and large production runs.
It is also suitable for large-format and oversize parts.
